When you’ve lost a loved one – friend, family member, or pet – there is a way you can help yourself deal with the grief that seems to overwhelm you. By learning about the grieving process and having a way to express your innermost feelings (journaling about it) , you can consciously move yourself through this dark time in a healthy way. My Grief Journal and accompanying guide will help you do just that.

The Grief Journal is 18 pages including the cover & ‘This belongs to…’ pages and has lovely pastel watercolor cloud borders on most of the pages. It begins with a page that prompts you to write about your experience with the five stages of grief and continues with pages for reflecting on your memories of your loved one and another where you can journal about the things you wish you could have told them.

What follows is a page where you can list the ways you can cope with your grief and then there’s a page with journaling prompts for each stage of the grieving process. And, when you’re ready, you can say goodbye by using the journaling prompts to help you through this painful time.  You are then reminded to take care of yourself by getting the support you need by writing about what it is you need at this time, groups you could join, people you can call, and what you need to talk about. A page for listing self care techniques is also provided.

At times, something or someone may trigger your grief and, when this happens you can write about what triggered it & why, things that remind you of your loved one, what you feel, and how you’re handling it. You can further reminisce by journaling about your favorite memory of them and more. If you are so inclined, there’s then a page for you to reflect upon your faith, your beliefs, and why this happened.

The final page is for you to express your feelings by writing your loved one a letter, and offering them your prayer.

The Grief Guide is 23 pages and describes what you can expect after losing your loved one, and how to cope with your grief. It will also help you understand the grieving process, the five stages of grief, and navigating through the grief process to healing. The guide also provides information for eight self-care practices to help you move beyond your loss.

As a special gift, I created a really nice suitable-for-framing quote poster that says – I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven.

Important note: This product comes as two PDF files that you view & download from Dropbox.com. The pages are US Letter size – 8.5″ x 11″, and have a small white border on each page for you to print at home (or a print shop, if you prefer). After checkout, you will receive a link to the file at Dropbox.
